he's the first left hander to pitch a no hitter in 52 years. He's also the 18th Sox player to pitch a no hitter in franchise history (which is an amazing number, considering teams like the Mets have 0 no-hitters in team history).

True, but the Mets have only been around since the 60's.

Also he's only 1 of 3 guys to win the deciding game of the world series and then pitch a no hitter in the following season. Cool stuff!

Also gotta give Veritek some props. He's the first catcher in the history of the MLB to catch 4 no-hitters. He also (if memory serves me correctly) caught a few 1-hitters from Pedro and a one from Schilling as well. Veritek could of easily caught 6-7 no hitters by now. I think this stat speaks highly to how good of a signal caller Veritek is behind the plate and how invaluable he is to have on the field.

Good Point. Curt, on his blog yesterday (38 pitches), said that He should have been Tek's 4th no hitter (making Lester #5), but he shook Tek off on the final pitch with 2 out in Oakland last year. Pretty cool.

Also DYK, Curt owns a company that makes computer based video games called 38 studios, it was called Green Monster Games.
