“ I'll be wearing my Sox hat and relaxing in the Rooftop Picnic Pavilion. ”
Join your friends from the Triangle Red Sox Nation as we gather for Tim Wakefield Bobblehead Night on Saturday June 28th at 5:15pm. We'll be just up the road in Zebulon at Five County Stadium to watch the Carolina Mudcats play a Double-A Southern League game against the Huntsville Stars at 6:15. Tim Wakefield won two World Series rings with our beloved Red Sox, but he perfected his famous knuckleball with the Mudcats right here in North Carolina. Get there early, as the first 1200 Kids (12 and under) will receive a bobblehead doll that commemorates Wakefield's time with the Mudcats back in the early 1990's. NOTE- TICKETS TO OUR PRIVATE PICNIC AREA ARE LIMITED, AND WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO MEMBERS OF THE GROUP ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS, SO READ CLOSELY: This is not a free event, tickets to the Private Picnic Area cost $30 per person and need to be paid well in advance. Tickets include a game ticket to a great minor league matchup that starts at 6:15pm, a huge all-you-can-eat buffet, and a private event for our group in the Elevated Rooftop Pepsi Picnic Pavilion on the third base side of the field. Muddy the Mudcat and his friends will have our Triple Play buffet ready when we arrive, so get there early and bring your appetite. The buffet includes all beef hot dogs, fresh grilled hamburgers, cheeseburgers, crispy fried chicken, cole slaw, chips, and cookies. The buffet also features a full selection of Pepsi products, along with a keg of Sam Adams and a keg of Miller Lite for adults to enjoy. (Other beer and food brands are available for purchase elsewhere in the ballpark.) Sean, one of the Co-Organizers of our group, will assign 125 tickets to the first members to RSVP on this site. (Note that there is a limit of seven guests for any one member.) If tickets are still available when you RSVP, he'll then provide you with the TRSN mailing address so you can send him a check for your total amount. The first members to reserve tickets and then follow up (quickly) with a check will be able to join us at the event when gates open that Saturday afternoon at 5:15. Take 64 East to 264 East, then exit at Highway 39 and take a right, and the ballpark will be on your right, just look for the Mudcats Water Tower that looks like a huge baseball in the sky. (Adults, don't forget to bring some cash bribes to the game so you can buy one of those collectable bobbleheads from the kids.) Children of all ages should bring their baseball gloves, since this should be fun for everyone. Act now. GO SOX!!!
